What is Rope Access?
Rope Access is a technique for working at height where ropes and other associated equipment is primarily used to provide access to difficult areas that require work to be performed. Rope access allows workers to reach a difficult destination easily, be suspended while work is in operation, and exit efficiently and securely.
Who uses Rope Access?
Safety is one of our commitments at Pacific Ropes. We are fully compliant with Worksafe BC and OHS. Our rope technicians are SPRAT certified and undergo periodic training/re-certification in order to maintain current standards. In addition, we have strict protocol in place to maintain and inspect all equipment / tools to ensure all items are in excellent working condition.
At Pacific Ropes, we provide specialized rope technicians to assist in labour, or to provide training for your employees who need the access to a certain area. All our employees are SPRAT certified and fully compliant to the standards and measures of SPRAT.
Why uses Rope Access?
Rope access is safe. The technique itself is a redundant system where two ropes are employed. With proper planning, management, training, and execution, rope access is a safe system for accessing high work areas.
Rope access is unobtrusive. Because of the nature of the technique, rope access allows workers to perform work with minimal impact on the environment and surrounding areas. Whether the work is hanging off a residential building or off the side of a mountain, the process of work from beginning to end leaves little to no footprint.
What is SPRAT?
SPRAT stands for Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians. It is based in the United States and provides a level of standard, legislation, and safety for rope access all across North America. Pacific Ropes is a SPRAT certified company. That means all our technicians are trained and uphold SPRAT standards and safety measures. We comply with the various requirements of SPRAT to ensure our company is providing the best rope access solutions we can to our clients.
