About the Role:

The Operations Coordinator is a hybrid leadership role that combines operational logistics and field safety coordination. You will be responsible for ensuring efficient project execution while upholding the highest safety standards in compliance with WorkSafeBC, Alberta OHS, and IRATA regulations.

This is a high-impact position, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is technically competent, and passionate about safety and mentorship.

Responsibilities:

Planning & Logistics

  • Schedule and dispatch field crews, materials, and equipment to project sites.
  • Build comprehensive work orders and coordinate travel logistics.
  • Provide daily operational support and adjust plans as projects evolve.
  • Collaborate with procurement, inventory, and client service teams.
  • Mentor and supervise field personnel; support site leads.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

  • Oversee safety documentation and hazard assessments.
  • Lead internal audits, inspections, and contractor prequalification (ISNetworld, Avetta).
  • Manage incident investigations, safety policy development, and JHSC meetings.
  • Ensure accurate tracking of certifications and training.
  • Lead safety orientations for employees and subcontractors.

Rope Access Technical Authority

  • Ensure IRATA compliance (ICOP, TACS, bulletins, equipment standards).
  • Manage statistics, AGMs, and maintain Pacific Ropes' IRATA standing.
  • Oversee equipment selection and technical field safety.

Qualifications:

  • IRATA Level 3 Certification (Mandatory)
  • NCSO/CSO and OFA Level 1 (preferred/minimum)
  • 5+ years of leadership in rope access and safety coordination
  • Strong knowledge of OHS regulations (BC/Alberta)
  • Skilled in project planning, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and technical writing skills
  • Demonstrated mentorship and leadership experience
  • Physically and mentally fit for field work in challenging environments
