Redundant safety is what we live for. Offering First Aid training allows technicians to have an extra layer of safety that creates more confident and competent individuals.

Partnering with Coast Wilderness Medical Training, we are offering a First Aid Course. This specific course is targeted towards Rope Access Technicians, and will include scenarios within that context/environment. 

First Aid Course Content:

  • Preparing to respond
  • The EMS system
  • Check, Call, Care response strategy
  • Airway emergencies
  • Breathing and Circulation emergencies
  • First aid for respiratory and cardiac arrest (CPR/AED)
  • Wound care
  • Suspension syndrome

In addition to learning how to respond to a medical emergency on ropes, you will receive a Canadian Red Cross Emergency First Aid CPR/AED 'C' certification which is OFA-1 (Occupational First Aid Level 1) equivalent. Holding this certification will make you not only a more competent technician and individual, but also makes you a competitive candidate for any potential employer!  

 

Coast Wilderness Medical Training has been running courses since 2014 with alumni all throughout BC, Canada and the world. Having first aid training is an asset especially for any individual working in environments that are difficult to access (at height!).
